While doing some holiday shopping downtown, my daughter and I were in search of a lunch spot that we had not experienced before. I’d seen a sign for Tristan on another recent visit to downtown and suggested we give them a try.

Tristan was open and airy. Upon being seated, we discovered that Tristan has a selection of three course lunch choices for $15.00, as well as a varied menu of interesting seafood, lamb and vegetarian choices. We both selected items from the three course menu. The cauliflower soup was flavorful and sufficiently thick. A Caesar salad was served with crisp greens and excellent dressing. For our main courses my daughter chose the steamed mussels in a white wine sauce that met her expectations. I chose the pork belly over grits. Well roasted flavorful pork morsels served on creamy grits was something new to me but I wasn’t disappointed. For our third course my daughter had warm biegnets with mango sauce and I had a Warm Black Forest Cake with Cherry Chutney and Cream – yummy!

Service was excellent and timely. Noise level was low, but I suspect if they had been crowded it might be a noisy atmosphere.

Tristan is highly recommended as a great place for lunch, with friends, family or business meeting.
